I have wanted to photograph Highland cows for a long time now and finally I got to see them up close. Day. Made. Bucket list item checked off even though I would love to photograph them more and more. His Mom and Dad were more than ready to meet this beautiful little boy however Asher was comfortable in his mother’s womb. After a week over his due date, an induction was planned. We waited and waited for things to process and finally at 4:30am the following morning, I was called to be at the hospital. Once I arrived, within 30 minutes Asher’s mother began pushing. Little did we know that she would push for over four hours!

Of course I try to throw in a few standard smiling photos for Grandma, but I see photographs as a record, and more importantly, a story that deepens your own understanding of yourself and the legacy you are leaving with your children and grandchildren.

The spark of joy I get from showing a mother just how much love she gives to her little ones, or showing a mother the way her children stare at her when she’s not watching is what keeps me going.
