Family sessions with me are all about telling a narrative with images. i want to do more than just take photographs of your loved ones, i want to tell your families’ story. through natural posing and direction, we’ll capture your family just as they are. these are anything but TRADITIONAL portraits, these are galleries filled with moments and details bottled up in ARTISTIC IMAGERY.

But before we get started, it is important to me and for the outcome of your photos, that I get to know you & your family a little better. That is what this questionnaire is for! Please take some time to fill this out and answer the questions with as much honesty and detail as you’d like, prior to your session. I look forward to getting to know your family’s story & to help you document it as well.

Tell me a little bit about your family. Tell me at least one fun fact about each of you. This can be hobbies, passions, activities you do together... whatever comes to mind!

A: If an outdoor session: Tell me about your dream location for your session. Is there an image of a session specifically of mine that has a location that you love and might want to use? Feel free to send an image as an example if you would like. You are welcome to look through my website and/or blog and tell me if anything sticks out to you. If you don't have a specific example in mind, just tell me your preferences (ex. water, creek or lake, field, wooded areas, ect.)

B: If an In Home Session: Tell me what areas of your home you would like to use and incorporate into your session! No detail is too small, anything that is special or unique to you and your family for example : where you spend your time nursing, or rocking your babies, cuddling or where you watch movies; anything at all. You are welcome to message/email me some photos of your favorite areas in your home if you can. Nothing fancy, phone quality is perfectly acceptable. This will help me get a better idea of what I am working with and the lighting. (Don't you worry about laundry or picking up a mess, I'm a Mother & a Wife - I totally get it and no judgment here. This is a safe place.)

The more I know going into your session about how to approach your kids, the better! How would you describe each of your children? What are their favorite things/activities/characters? What makes them happy? Tell me anything you think would be valuable for me to know about what makes each of them unique and amazing!

What do your kids find funny? What makes them laugh and giggle uncontrollably? Are you offended by poop or fart jokes (I had to ask lol, you know how kids are)?

What do you want your photos to FEEL like? (Emotional, Loving, Fun, and Lighthearted, Dramatic, Passionate, ect.)

What would you love to remember about this time in your lives?

Describe a "perfect" Family day. What kinds of things do you like to do together.

I never promise to get any specific shots for you during your session. Why? Because kids are unpredictable! Rest assured, I have ideas and tricks up my sleeve but I also run through sessions with a go with the flow attitude ready to change my workflow at any point in time. With that being said, I still make an effort to include and take the kinds of images that you are hoping for and hiring me for. Are there any MUST HAVE photos you want me to be extra mindful of during your session? I promise I will do my best to get them for you!
